View Full Version : Found a Hole in my Block!
The hole is about the size of a quarter. It's located in the wall under where the front intake seal goes, right next to the lifter bore for the #1 intake valve. You can see the distributor shaft when looking from the valley area. It's oblong in shape so I don't think it's supposed to be there. My questions are:
1. Does that hole belong there?
2. What could have caused that?
3. What kind of problems could this lead to?
4. Can it be fixed?
I don't have a digital camera to take a picture, but any replies would be appreciated.

If it's on the drivers side, it sounds like where the mechanical fuel pump used to be mounted when they used them.

The hole is on the passenger side, right next to the the #1 intake valve lifter bore. It's on the wall that surrounds the distributor (inside the valley area).

Chris, I was a little worried. The thing is, I've helped with 2 head swaps (including yours) and don't remember ever seeing that hole before. I guess you learn something new everyday.
