Hey! I've encountered an oil leak that will not go away!! It is where you screw in the oil pressure gauge sending unit... I have tried teflon tape, but that didn't work, should I just use alot more?? Or do you know of a better thing to use to stop leaks?? http://www.mustangworks.com/interactive/msgboard/smile.gif Grrr... my stang smells like an old beater from the smoke and burning oil smell!! I'll have to take it apart again tomorrow! grrr... any ideas?

I would suggest trying a new sending unit. Its kinda hard to help without seeing first hand. Are the parts the proper size, eg. the male part is proper size thread for the female.

yeah.. this unit has been for over a year with no leaks, but it's leaking from right where it screws into the pipe coming out of the engine!! http://www.mustangworks.com/interactive/msgboard/rolleyes.gif

Teflon tape should work fine. Did you put it on the right way? I have pipe dope on mine.

if the teflon tape is not working, try some teflon based thread sealent (made by either loctite or permatex). Comes in a tube and works great - I've used it on fittings for years. Just remenber to use it in moderation as it doesn't take much to sufficiently coat the threads.
