Post 4.6 swap?

Anybody have any info - especially with AODE, into 70 for nice daily driver, not street racer?

Thanks!

I think you'd be looking at a pretty expensive swap, and you might be disappointed with the results. Your looking at a complete rewire to get an engine you could easily surpass with a pushrod v8. If you're just looking for the cool factor it would be trick.

Mustang Monthly did one about 6 months ago on a '65. I think they made a whole new firewall and Mustang II suspension. I may be wrong, though. At least this will give you something to start from.

Some other swaps may be more cost effective, but less original. I respect someone brave enough to cut up their car & take on the headaches (and $) of daring to be different.

There is NO WAY that the 4.6 would fit in a 65-70 Mustang without cutting out the shock towers. This engine is VERY wide. Much wider than 289/302. Wider than the 351W. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the 4 valve 4.6 is wider than even the old Boss 429.

You would HAVE to do the Mustang II front suspension swap. You should have LOTS of $$$$ to throw around, because you'll need thousands to complete this swap. Good luck no matter what your decision.
