i just bought a pair mounted on turbines... 26x8 speed star tires, for $50 bucks. are they a good tire? any recomendations on psi and launch rpm? i never heard of this brand... have any of you guys heard of or used mcreary slicks?

If they're the G60 sized DOT tires, I've used them. They work okay, but not great. Best 60 ft. was a 1.8x, but most were in the 2.0 range. Honestly, I think you can do better with a DR.

If memory serves, I aired them down to about 20 psi. They are bias ply tires, so they won't have the stability of a radial. It gets exciting at the big end of the track when the tail starts to wallow back and forth.

But for $50, you did well.

I have some hooisher dirt stockers about the same as the mcreary there not bad but i agree i think DR's work better but for the price you paid i wouldn't complain but i will worn you now they don't last very long and don't drive on them below 15psi but there a vast improvement over street tires

They are a good around town tire, I have some that I put on sometimes in the summer. They hook alot better than the bfg t/a tire(stock size) I usually use for street duty, heck they hook better than the zr1s I have now. Don't even try to go any long distance with them though, 30 minutes highway drive and the rear is swaying all over the place(*scary*).
