15grand for a 69 mach 1

Is this a guud price? There's a guy around here asking for 15 K, it's all black, new paint job, and fairly recently rebuilt. What do you guys think?

My thought is that it would have to be pretty near concourse show quality to get that much. I'm no expert on show cars though.

Well I have a '69 and I've been following prices and such.
Alot depends on this
What engine does it have?
Number Matching Car?
Auto or 4spd?
What kinda condition is the interior in?
Straight body? any rust on the car such as floor, trunk?
How's the chrome?
$15k I would imagin it'd be a very mint car or a very orignal car, or maybe a 428 in it.

-auto

-flawless exterior, no rust
How's the chrome?
-bling bling

It's also got some basic modifications (I/H/E)... so what are your thoughts?

by numbers matching we mean the vin id number on the drivers side of the dash board.... if you find a vin decoder, you can decode it and see if your car is factory accurate, as mine is... i got a really great deal for the condition mine is in.... nearly flawless for 4500 dollars.... i think i could sell it for about 8000.. more or less... but factory accurate cars are really really hard to come by.... and if its a 4v (pretty sure it is if its a mach 1)... value should be up..... hope this helps......

15 is a little high, you can get a nice mach 1 for 8 and a perfect mach 1 for 13-15 depends on if you are willing to look out of state as well. So if that is all you have to choose from and there aren't often mach 1's like this one for sell for you to buy might be worth it. But I would say you can get a better deal unless you are in love with it.

I second one's opinion. That is abit steep, unless it's a number matching car and the car is absolutely mint condition. So basicly no work needed. And usually auto's are abit cheaper, the 4spd top-loaders get harder to find everyday. I would say like one said unless ya're totally in love with the car, you'll find another one. Also are you looking to do alittle restoration on it or just basicly a car you can pick up and drive?

One thing to remember is that there are alot of Mach-1 clones running around out there.(such as mine) I see them at every show I go to. And until you decode it you can't tell. I would have to say that 8 grand for a nice mach 1, and 13-15 for a perfect one is low to fair for a true mach 1.(maybe my opinion of perfect is different than others) I go on cruises with a classic car museum that is located close to my city and they just sold a clone for 14,900.(paint had bubbles in one spot and although it was nice it was not perfect) It all depends on alot of factors though. I think fifteen is fair if it is a true mach and is in great condition. But for 15 grand, doing the labor yourself, you could build a very nice car the way you really want it. I'd say look around more before spending 15 grand though. Check out E-bay. Good luck

As I said earlier, I'm no expert on show cars. I agree with every post in this thread though. For $15,000, I believe you should look for a near perfect, numbers matching example . I do believe a 428 CJ like that would cost a fair amount more. I would look around a lot if you have $15,000 cash for one.
