Default Want info on 1966 Mustang...need help

Hi,

We've inherited a 1966 Mustang, 2 door, V8 289. It is unique in that it has a leopard print exterior roof and has 2 mustang pillows with the mustang insignia on them. It is gold metallic on the outside with a tan interior. It is in great condition and it was shown in local car shows.

Does anyone know if the car is original and came with the leopard print? Or was it redone by someone famous? Just trying to find informaiton and any will help. thanks

No way that a leopard print interior is stock on a 66 mustang. It must have been redone by someone along the way, or was special ordered. I don't think it would be worth anything, unless there is a special history behind the car, you should try and find out all you can about how that print came to be in the car.

Default thanks and

I just found out that the exterior roof has the leopard print, not the interior. The interior is tan and the color of the car is gold metallic. Does this help? The car is out-of-state so I'm trying to get all the information I can. Thanks for your help.

The leapord print is not orginal, my guess would be that someone decided they liked leapord print and had the orginal vinal top changed to leapord print vinal. There is a Cadilac arround town that has a zebra stripe top on it. The top probably hurts the resale value of the car, but if the car was in good shape I would buy it and change the top back to the orginal color, or keep the top if you like it.

No, the leapord print is not orginal, but I too agree u should find out if it has any kind of special meaning to it, someone famous, or sothing like that.

Maybe it is one of the Sonny and Cher or playboy (I think?) conversions.

just had a thought....why don't you check out your vin codes?. that can tell you where your car was made, where it was ordered from, what the original colors are and a whole bunch of other neat stuff too!
