1966 Restoration Project - Update and info

Hey everyone!

Thanks for your feedback a few months back. Well, I bit the bullett and allowed the love for my mustang to rule, and sent it to the shop for evaluation. I got the final list back, and it wasn't too bad...

Exhaust system (over 30 years old, I knew that was needed)
Fuel Pump
Brakes
One other thing that slips my mind.

Well, I told them if they fix the fuel pump, get the engine working, and it's not leaking (and running well), to begin the other work. After they started, they added a Fuel Tank to the list, but couldn't find one. For what I needed, I ended up ordering the full kit at a west-coast mustang source for repro-parts. I'm about $650 into it, and all that's left are the brakes. for $1500, I have a road-safe Mustang!

We are still waiting for the fuel tank to arrive, but he's been running the engine from a gallon jug of gas, and he says the engine is in suprisingly great shape. Those straight 6 engines are really well built!

Now, I need some advice on interior work. This I plan on doing myself. However, I know there are some minor holes in the floor pan currently (I think by the kick panels). Not being one for welding (though my dad may be able to help there), what are your recommendations for that work - patching, overlaying, or replacing? Perhaps nothing needs to be done and I just don't know any better?

For interior work, what site(s) or companies do you recommend ordering from for the most authentic replacement apholstry? Currently, the interior is Turquoise. The driver's seat and the armrests definitely need replacing, as well as the carpeting (I've known mildew to smell better). Since I'm going whole-hog, I want to add a stereo. Would everyone agree that Kickpanel replacements with speakers built in are the way to go? (no original radio). I will be getting an analog-tuner front radio, though perhaps it will have a hidden cassette or cd.

This should be enough to keep me going until May-June. Thanks!
