Default 1995 Mustang 5.0

My son's mustang runs fine and thens as it idles will sputter and die. It always starts back up but it eventually starts it again. We replace the TPS sensor, new plugs and gas filter. Anyone can tell me what else it may be would be appreciated. The motor is stock so there are no aftermarket parts.

Injectors do foul and can be cleaned. Also check each of the plug leads and verify each piece resistance and freedom from becoming hard or cracked. Today its more likely the plug lead will go bad rather than the plug itself.

Default Thanks Jeff, but

The car will simply die like someone cut off the ignition. Does that still sound like a fuel problem. It doesn't hesitate to start after it has quit. Really confusing!

Sounds like the ignition switch. They do wear out and the contacts can become erratic. My brother had a Mustang with this problem and it took him two years to find out what it was...and a lot of parts!

When it sputters, jiggle the key to see if it restarts. If it does, replace the switch.
