Post 1st time to the track

Well it was very fun but also a little discouraging. My best time was as follows
60'-2.17: 1/8--9.5: 1/4--14.70 @ 94.6 MPH
Thought I would run a little faster with my combo. Although my buddies say I will with a little practice. I have seen guys with 2.2 and 2.3 60 foot times that ran 13.9. Maybe the 28" slick we put on was too big for my 3:55's Opinions and encouragement(or not)please.

Hi Dave, I too was disappointed the last time I went to the track. Hard to believe it was almost two years ago. I will blame it on the 100 degree heat and high humidity. The below times were from the second time I went drag racing. I took almost a second off the eighth mile track time I put up at my first race experience. Keep going and you will knock that time down!

Hee, hee, that 72.13 in the 1/8 is awful quick for those other times Red, Just kidding you a little.

David, I think you're right about the slicks. Did it bog a lot off the line?

I went to the track at Little River/Temple which isn't the best of tracks. They don't clean it on test n tune nights either. Anyway the only time it actually got traction, it did bog quite a bit. It spun pretty good on the other 3 runs. I wasn't leaving very hard either, only at like 2500 rpms. I only have an 8" rear and I've heard they can't take much abuse, so I was a little timid I guess.
