I have my battery relocated to the trunk. When I first did this conversion, I just grounded the battery to the frame in the trunk area. Big mistake. After due consideration, and slow cranking while hot, I ran a ground cable (#2) directly from the ground terminal to the starter motor. I can't tell you how much this helped. Anyone with the battery in the trunk, run a big ground cable directly to the stater motor bolt.
