Default 3.55 gears.

i just bought 3.55 gears in the 3rd member off e bay for $190

just wondering if anyone else has these and if they are happy with them. i am going from 2.80 with about 10 broken teeth to new 3.55's and i was wondering if anyone else had 2.80's before and went to 3.55's and if they were happy with the difference.

I have 3.55 and really like them, but I also have a T5 that allows cruising at reasonable engine rpm. At 70 mph, I cruise at about 2100 rpm in 5th. In 4th it would be over 3000 rpm at 70. Around town the 3.55 give really good acceleration.

Default 2.80 to 3.25

I went from 2.80 to 3.25 and that seems good to me. I also cruise at 3000 RPM @ 70MPH, but that's with a C-4. There's about 5% slippage in the torque converter when fully coupled on a C-4 (no lock up).

66StangGuy - have you checked under your post "C4 with 280s" ? I posted a bunch of charts that may help get an idea what you can expect

I believe I have 3.55's, in 4th at about 70mph I'm at around 3000rpm. Whatever is in there I love them. But it's the only thing I'm used to. But when you can snap your neck taking off at like 35-40mph thenit's fun. Best is when you stap on it and everyone goes silent.
