Default Carb Combo

Just wondering about some combos.
Mainly weekend cruiser, may have to serve temporary as a driver, but mainly cruiser and strip. Just the intake, carb, fuel system, the bottom end will be the same as my fuelie setup.

Combo #1:

Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap,
650 Holley Double Pumper,
MSD dizzy and box,
holley blue pump and regulator.

Combo #2:

Edelbrock Torker 2,
650 Holley,
MSD dizzy and box,
holley pump, reg.

Combo #3:
Victor Jr.
650 Demon Carb,
MSD stuff,
aermotive fuel system.

Any other suggestions?

I'd like to stay with a 650 carb, and msd ignition. The intake is the main choice. F cam will be substitued with a TFS stage 1.
Rest of mods in signature, of course the EFI stuff won't be there.

Personally Im a big fan of the performer rpm air gap. this is what i have on my car and it works beautifully. id probably mate it to the 650 demon. I want to get one of those guys for my setup. I also run a holley blue pump and all msd ignition except for the distributor. I love the setup and its very streetable. You can checkout my profile for all the stuff on my car.

RPM and a 650 Holley. I've been hearing less than favorable reviews recently about Demons.

Take care,

I forgot to mention one other thing. I'd like to occaisionally run a small tiny 100 hp shot of nitrous on it too. That stuff is sooooo addictive.... So I'd have to find either a second fuel pump and reg, or a strong one pump and reg setup. (Probably safer with 2)

So the RPM Air Gap is the best of both worlds then? And 650 Double Pumper if I can find one cheap enough... they're something like $550 canadian new. MSD 6AL box, with which type of distributor? Holley Blue and regulator are in the plans.

Thanks for the replies so far, keep 'em coming.

Just a stock duraspark distributor will work perfect with the msd ignition. I was told not to was money on the fancy msd distributors unless i really want every little ounce of power possible. And actually ive heard a few bad things about demons as well. I was told that their smaller street carbs probably wouldnt make any big difference over my edelbrock. But come to think of it i would probably also go with the 650 double pumper. Thats what they used to dyno my engine and it worked magnificent. As far as a fuel pump goes to handle a 100hp shot i was told that my blue pump could handle it. Mind you if i go to different places they say different things. Otherwise for a little added security you could try going with a black pump or a bg or aeromotive pump.

Thanks RoadWarrior... I took a look at the Black pump, and I think it'll be better and safer to go with that instead of the Blue pump.

So it sounds like a good combo then?

RPM Air Gap,
650 Holley Double Pumper,
Holley Black Pump,
MSD 6aL, Stock Dizzy,
100hp shot of spray.

Any thoughts on the cam swap too? I know the F isn't the best with fuelie or carb'd N/A setups, so thats why I'm thinking TFS stage 1, or if there are others, let me know.

Thats pretty much my exact combo. Another idea for a cam is to phone up comp cams and talk to them. They can tell you what cam would work best for your setup. Any other questions you can feel free to ask away.

I was always jinxed with the blue pumps.. had a couple die... and they are LOUD.... might look at the mallory comp 140 or better... nice and quiet... and a better regulator..

Thats one thing about the holley blue. It is a fairly noisy pump. But ive never had a problem with it acting up and besides the noise it seems like a good pump.
