Default 302 Balance

Are the flywheel and harmonic balancer from a 1969 302 safely interchangable with those from a 1972 302? I am tracking down a vibration in a 1972 302, and have eliminated the transmission and everything back from there. Bellhousing alignment, clutch/pressure plate, flywheel and harmonic balancer are my next targets.
It is in a 65 Falcon Convertible with a built 302, Toploader and 3.50 limited slip, but I thought Mustang builders may have encountered similar situations.

A change from 28.2 oz.-in. to 50 oz.-in. flywheel happened in 1982. I would guess your swap is ok but, I am sure someone on this board will provide a more complete answer. -JON

I don't think your dampner is the problem. I've used different year flywheels and pulley wheels before w/o problems. When are you getting vibration? Have you checked all your ignition components and fuel supply? I'll check some of my stuff and see if the dampner was changed and if it was I'll get back to you. Good luck.

Well, I might as well display my stupidity. After acquiring a "new" flywheel and balancer, I discovered the problem was that the home made cross member tranny support held the tranny too rigid, causing a vibration under torque. The good news is that I didn't take everything apart again!
Thanks for your help.
