![]() Stock 351W heads suck. 1969 was the best year for them if you do end up using them. But I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe if you did a really, really nice porting/polishing job on them they would be halfway decent. But, it'd be much easier to go with aftermarket heads. They make iron heads if he wants something kind of close to stock, or just get some nice aluminum heads like the Edelbrock RPMs.
Easiest way to get 400 hp with a 351W. Edelbrock Performer RPM "Power Package". Heads, cam, intake, 750 carb. Check out their website. They tell you everything you need to know. ------------------ Previously "BennyBoy" '69 Coupe with 351W-I rolled it 8/8 Edelbrock RPM intake, Edelbrock RPM cam, Edelbrock 750 cfm carb, Hedman headers, 2 1/2" pipe, glasspacks, C4: shift kit, 9" Currie: Trac-Lok 3.70s, 290hp-stock heads |

![]() You might be able to get an engine out of a junk yard, there are a few of them out there. Look mostly in Lincolns, those heads are going to be almost worthless though. There might be other small differences through the years, but it would make a good donor.

![]() You might find a 351 at a junk yard. There should still be a few out there. Try looking in Lincolns. The heads in them will be pretty bad for performance use and would be easier to replace them. There might be small differences through the years but not sure.

![]() I have a set of 69 351 windsor heads and am planning to use them on a 66 289+040 with flattops and a hipo cam(don't know the specs)I was told the windsor heads would be super for the little engine, any input before I acually do it. Also I have 3 351Ws one I will be keeping(69)and two others (73& 78) one may be sold the other is available for fairly cheap money
