Post 390 oil filter

I recently got a 390 from a 69 or 70's truck which had power steering, ac, 2v carb and only went to about 4500 rpm ( hasn't been driven for a few years ). What i am wondering is will i have to get an oil filter adapter because it sticks out horizontally and in my 302 it goes down... so if my engine bay to small so that i will have to get an adapter that will let the oil filter go down?

I don't know for sure if it will help, but you could use the shorter version of the FL-1A motorcraft oil filter to get more clearance.
