Default 390 Radiator

I put the flex fan blade through the radiator of my S-code 390. After finding out the radiator in the car was for a 289 I decided to order a correct 390. When I put the new radiator in it didn't fit. Did the 67 390 come with a special radiator or is my support bracket wrong? The radiator opening is 24 inches, I can't squeeze the 26 inches (with outer bracket) into the space needed. Hope someone can help. Would a 4 row fit?
