Default 4.6L & T5 in a 66 coupe

I am about to put a 2002 4.6L with 5 speed into my 66 coupe which presently has a 289 with automatic. I have disc brakes and I intend to do the following;

1. Install rack and pinion steering

2. New front end with coil (600Lb.) shocks.

Has anyone done this?

Does it make sense to do this?

Do I need to beef up the crossmenber etc?

Any ideas that may make this a better install?

Fritz
