454
will A 454 fit in A 67 mustang. and who make's the 454.
thanks ford kid |
Chevy makes it, and if you've got money, it will fit.
|
thanks. thats what I wanted to know
thanks fordkid |
you can make ford 454 by using a 427 block bored .030, and installing a 428 crank. with the right set up it will out run a chevy 454.
|
rbohm- thats interesting. I will ask the guy what he ment. if it is A stock 454 or A strocked 454.
thanks ford kid |
Don't do it. Build a 351w it's much easyer to swap and when built right it will run as good as a 454. If its the cubes you want save the money you whould have spent on tring to get the 454 stuffed in you car and stroke the 351 to 408 or 427. And then you will not have to sin.

As far as the law goes, it is illegal to put a cheby motor in a Ford.

Curious?
Just wondering where you got that info, mustangII460?

Wonder?
I wonder how many model "A"'s, "T"s, and "'39-40" Fords there are running around with "283-350" Chevy small blocks in them? Must be a fair number of these "illegal" conversions, LOL.

ok lol. you guys are getting the wrong idea. first of all I would never put A chevy engine in A ford. I was only asking cuz A few nights ago when me and my friends were out this one guy got jealous cuz A girl he likes was talking to me about my car. and he said he had A 67 gt mustang with A 454 in it. and that he doesn't drive it cuz it's A show car. well how many 18 year olds do you know that have A show car. there is no dought he was lying. and all I said was thats nice. but later that night I was thinking about it and didn't think A 454 would fit. so I figured I would ask you guys cuz you haven't steared me wrong before.
so now that thats cleared up.lol. thanks ford kid |
"69-70 Boss?
I actually did line up by chance against a track car on test and tune that looked like a 69-70 Mustang. It was all in primer and had 12-14" slicks with a wheelie bar and a roll cage.
I knew I didn't have a chance, but gave it my best shot. I actually beat him out of the hole and maybe out to the 660', but then he came bt me like I was sitting still. I spoke to him afterwards as he was pouring race gas into the tank, He had a 454 Chevy big block and a built power glide. This was a dedicated strip car with a roll cage that the guy had just bought. He said he would put a buiplt 460/C-6 as soon as he could manage it. The odd thing was that he said it was an original "Boss 302" '69 or '70. What ever it was, it was an interesting site that evening. On test and tune night, one never really knows what will turn up. Rev |
well I guess it fits in 69 and 70. is the 69 the same size as the 67. I guess I should ask him if I could stop by and see it. if he really does have it, it would be interesting to see. even though it's A chevy engine.
thanks guys. ford kid |
