64-66 stang
I am looking to buy a 64-66 stang, and I had a few questions.
1. How are they on gas 2. How hard is it to find parts 3. Are they Reliable I will appreciate any and ALL information anyone can give me. Thanks |
I can share my experiance with my 65
1. I like to drive my car v-8 so <20 mpg, I might get a touch better than 20 mpg if I never stepped on the gas (no fun) 2. I can only think of one part I could not get brand new (fastback rear window glass). Parts are easy to find. 3. My car is pretty reliable now, but I probably averaged breaking down on the road at least 3 times a year from 89 to 99. From 99 to present, I have only broke down once. So about 10 years to work out the bugs for me! -JON |
Easy to find parts, or buy them from a mag,
reliable, i only broke down once. in two years, on a $500 '66 mustang. I only got 12-14 MPG. Plus, the women love them. |
MPG, reliability

My car gets about 13 MPG the way I have it set up. I do use Chevron Supreme for my modified engine. If you really want the most performance for the buck and low maintainance costs, then you will want a late model, electronically fuel injected Mustang GT. I use mine on the weekend for fun. I just love old Mustangs and accept the extra costs. I do, however, harbor no delusions that they are (or even can be) the equivalent to a new car. Rev |
