65 Coupe elctrical problem
Hello, I have a 1965 Coupe, 289 engine, auto trans... First restoration project.... I have it about 80 % complete... My problem now is when I turn the ignition key to the ON position; the engine cranks over.... Anyone have any ideas or have experienced this problem yourself?

Re: 65 Coupe elctrical problem
You probably have the "on wire" connected to the "start pole" at the starter relay. It's just a matter of connecting the "on wire" to the correct terminal at the starter solenoid (relay).
Disconnect all the wires at the relay, and find the hot one when the ignition key is "on". Connect that wire to the rear most terminal on the relay (small posts). Find the wire that is hot when the key is at the 'start" position and it should be connected to the front most terminal (small posts). That should fix it. Any problems after that contact me. Rev |
