				 | 65 Mustang 4 lug I just got my first Mustang. It's a 65, (have been told it's a 64 1/2, but I have no idea how to tell), 6 cylinder 170 cid, auto. Black with gold stripes, white interior. She has 4 lug wheels. The tires are real dry rotted from sitting the last several years. I really dont like the steel wheel hubcap look. I am interested in putting alum wheels on her. I like the newer model Mustang wheels. Will these newer generation Stang wheels bolt on my first gen Stang. I have seen some of the newer (80's 90's) models with 4 lug. The existing wheels are 14's I would prefer 15's. In the photo she sports plastic hubcaps. They have got to go. http://media.mustangworks.com/data/5...r-med.JPG?3525 http://media.mustangworks.com/data/5...r-med.JPG?2689 http://media.mustangworks.com/data/5...rior-thumb.JPG http://media.mustangworks.com/data/5...gine-thumb.JPG Last edited by no its a secret; 08-22-2004 at 10:13 AM.. |

				 | I am curious if the newer style 4 lug stang wheels will bolt on. Take a closer look and you will see the roof has been sectioned across, and moved forward. (oh and I did not do it) How did you convert to 5 lug? is it swap type of mod? |

				 | 5 lug i did the SSBC conversion in the front ..comes with new spindles, pads, rotors ect ..everything you need to convert over to 5 lug disc brakes ..on the back ur gonna have to stick a different rear end in there with a 5 lug setup already on it ..i dont know if they sell 5 lug axles u can just stick in to covert what you have now or if there is another way maybe somebody else can help - but thats what i did im not sure if the pony wheels would fit but im guessing no |

				 | the post 74 mustang wheels will not interchange with the pre 74 wheels as the bolt patterns are different. the pre 74 wheels were 4x4 1/2" and the 74 up wheels are 4x 4 1/4"

				 | I have a 65 with four lugs too. I am currently switching it over though, starting with the rear end. I bought a 8inch out of a junk yard, which was actually out of another 65 stang. For the front, i am going to get the front spindels off of a granada, versailes, monarch, or mustang, that was originally equipped with disc's in the front. Then probably put new everything else on it. After all that is done, i will hopefully be ready to put my 302 in it!! If you are looking for some cool looking cheap wheels for the 4 lug for now, there are some cool ones. I believe summit sells these craguar wheels that have 4 lug, that look cool, for like 50-60 a rim. Craguar super spoke, i think they are called. (they are not like the bike spoke ones) |

				 | Re: 65 Mustang 4 lug Well I have learned she is not a 64 1/2, but a 1965. Also the six is a 200 not a 170. |

				 | Re: 65 Mustang 4 lug Generally Im not a big fan of that, but normally its done to mini-vans and other weird things. I gotta say that looks pretty sweet, definately cool and different. Is that glass custom made or how does that all work?
