Default 65 shelby hood scoop

I am redoing my 65 fastback this spring to be a shelby replica, does anyone know how far forward or back on the hood the hood scoop was mounted on the 1965 shelby? Thanks for any help.

I realize the shelbys had a fiberglass hood, But when I am spending over 5000 in paint and motor mods and misc. other parts, spending 300 on a hood at this moment is just not what I would rather do.

I have spent over 15 grand on my nine year project a 1966GT350 convertible replica.
And got a good clear coat paint etc.. I got all the correct stuff on this car and never regretted it yet!!
on my prev car I tried to put a fiberglass scoop on a steel hood, it lasted three yaers before it started cracking, was told I was lucky . I ended up getting a $150 cheapy hood and had a good body guy work it till it looked good.
If you want I can send you Pictures of these cars, just Email me. send me you pix when done to if you get the chance.
Be sure to get a Tony Branda catalog, has lots of info on stripe placement and how to lower your A arms etc..good luck and here are the dimensions.

2" from back of hood to the beginning of scoop curve.

23.5" over the curve of the hood, from front center to the center of the scoop opening.

Thanks for the help Fettstang. I emailed a guy I found on the net that has the real thing. He has been very helpful.
As for the scoop, I realize it will not last real long. But I am paying a rediculous amount of money to have a killer paint job put on it. I had it media blasted first (the car had 6 different colors of paint plus each had a coat of primer), pulled the fenders and etc. to give it a real detailed paint job.
Not to mention a crap load on the motor to get me well into the 13's.
Luckily the guy I bought the car from in CA off of pics only, had already dropped the car 2 inches. The front has tubular front a ARMS. I can not remember who this special kit is from.
Anyway, I would love pics from you, I will email you.
Thanks,

Ryan

it seems silly to pay though the nose for a killer paint job and rig up a glass scoop on a steel hood ( I did it!?!) do it right, do it once I learned the hard way!
the hood I gave measurments from was Authentic (as I could buy), they should match what you hear from the other source.
I'll send a Cal pix(small enough for email)
good luck!!
