66 Engine Rebuild
I recently bought a 1966 six cylinder coupe and the engine could use a complete rebuild. Who sells a rebulid kit and how much should one cost? Also any idea on what labor charges would be if i don't do it myself. Any good literature or manuals for the straight six rebuild out there in case i do it myself??? Thanks in advance!!!

The I6 is a tough motor to find accurate literature on. The Mustang Mags hardly ever get anything right when they talk about them.
You will have to have machine work done for you, but you could assemble the motor yourself rather easily if you have a mechanical background, and save yourself some money. As far as parts go, most stuff you will need can be purcahsed at your local autoparts store (bearings, gaskets, etc..) If you want to pep it up a little, then you may have to get more creative. 2.3L HSC flat-top pistons are a direct replacement. A Comp 260 of Clifford 264H cams are a great add-on for an everyday performer. For cost, realistically figure around $2000 for a good, complete rebuild. If you want to do as much as you can yourself, check us out over here: http://pub41.ezboard.com/bfordsixcyl...rformanceforum We're a buch of I6 loving fools who can help you out all the way through.
