Default 66 mustang engine troubles

i rebuilt my 289 a couple of years ago. i put a 302 high output cam in it. since then, it hasnt ran right. it idles great. when i drive it, it hesitates, stalls, surges and about everything else wrong. any help?

If you put an HO cam in your firing order has changed to the late model 302/351 firing order.

A 302 hi output? You didn't put a ROLLER cam in there did you?

Roller cam?, without roller lifters? What induction system?(too much maybe) What ignition system? (not enought juice)

problem fixed. thanks for all the help.

the port on the choke where a vacuum line goes had no vacuum and no plug. i plugged it and the problem was fixed.

i have another problem now. see my other post if you want to help.

the post is "carb problem"
