Post Brake Upgrade Confusion

I'll try to make this short. I'm installing a '93 Cobra rear in my '89 GT. So far I have the rear, booster, master cylinder and emergency brake cables. I've gotten mixed advice about the proportioning valve. I know it has to be changed or modified because the new rear discs will require more pressure than the original drums. Besides that the Cobra master cylinder has only two ports (the GT setup has the driver's side brake line going directly to the master cylinder, while I believe the Cobra runs that brake line to the rear of the prop. valve). I ordered Maximum Motorsports MC adapter kit which allows the driver's side front brake line to be run to the master cylinder by creating another port. But this alone won't solve my pressure problem. I was told to gut my stock prop. valve (front and rear ports) and install an adjustable prop. valve at the coupling on the passenger side firewall. Is that it?? If I could get a stock '93 Cobra prop. valve, would I be able to eliminate the MM adapter kit as well as the adjustable prop. valve? Money and pride are pushing me to do this conversion myself but I just want to make sure I cover all bases especially with brakes. Thanks!!
