Default Rear end identification question

2 years ago i bought an 84 mustang 'GT' (?), after considering a 3:73 gear change, I looked in the summit catalog and it appears i have a 7.5".

I thought the GT's had an 8.8"..

could someone please enlighten me.

I also noticed, when i pulled the tranny last summer, the hole in the floor for the 5 spd shifter was cut in my someone who is not very good at cutting metal..

I am starting to think my car isn't a GT??
