Reverse lights

My reverse lights don't come on when I put the car in reverse. I checked the bulbs. The car is a 91 5.0 LX coupe. The transmission is a super duty T-5 with pro 5.0 short shifter. I can't recall whether or not the lights stopped working when I had the tranny/shifter put it because my windows are tinted dark. I haven't checked fuses yet but figure that those wouldn't be the only lights on a circuit. The others work fine. Is there an internal switch that activates those lights? Where is it? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

The switch is on the trans itself. can't rember what side, it could be it.

it's on the driver's side of the tranny, it's got two small studs protruding from it and there is a plug that just fits right over it.
