'69 351W??

Could someone tell me the specs on several parts of a '69 351W 4V motor. What are the valve sizes and the chamber volume of the heads? I heard it was 58cc? Also is the CR 10.7-1, and what would it be with the block bored .030? The stock hp rating is 290hp is this right? What should the timing be ran at I am using it in a '90EFI stang. Also should it be ok to run the spark plugs at the larger gap of a '90? One last thing what would you recommend for a cam in this motor a strong street cam.
Thanks

Ahh yesss... The "M" code 351W.
Yes on the 10.7 cr & 290 hp. This was the standard 69 Shelby GT 350 engine.
We are missing the factory Intake Manifold for ours, since factory correct isnt important to you, are you using yours????

You mean this factory aluminum 4bbl intake sitting here? No I am not and was actually thinking of parting with it.

Aluminum? I didn't know that they were.
We have a 69 Mach 1 with the "M" code special ordered. When we bought it 14 yrs ago, the intake (and Carb) was long gone and replaced with an aftermarket manifold that we just painted to look original when we rebuilt the engine. Looks stock to most people, and RUNS MUCH BETTER. I always thought that if I came across the original carb & intake for it, I would pick it up.
We have a Ford Motorsport hyd. cam with ported heads and love it. email me if you want to part with it.

Guys, what cam do you think?

My setup will be 74 351W Block, L2246F Pistons, Dooe Heads with 1.94 1.60 valves,
C9OX aluminum 4bbl intake, and Connected
to a 92aod trans with wide ratio 2.84
1st gear. This will be in a 65 car...
rear gear 3.40 Car will be a street cruiser
and I need to find what Cam to put to use
stock torque converter, and have a fair idle

Please advise what you think.

Thanks

I would guess that the M-6250-A351 SVO cam would be a good choice, call their tech line also and get their opinion.

Yes the intake is aluminum and it is original
off of a '69 Mach 1. I had the carb but got rid of it a couple of years ago. I guess I will never do anything with the intake any time soon so I am interested in trading if possible for a set of 3.73-1 8.8" ring and pinion gears or a '90 LX front bumper cover or an off road H-pipe for the same. If you don't have any of thoes then I guess just make an offer. Thanks Bruce

Just to help you out if correctness is important, the aluminum intake manifold was standard on the Shelby GT-350 only. It was cast iron on the Cougar, Fairlane, Montego, and Mustang. HP was correct, 290@4800rpm. Combustion chamber volume was 58.9cc - 61.9cc. Hope this helps out!

still lookin for the right stang!

Intake manifold on the 351W M code was a castiron unit. We replaced one on my kid's 69 Windsor with the Edelbrock Performer. Sold the stock anchor for $100.
