Default 69 Mustang Engine

Hey, I just got a 1969 Grande, and I don't know what size engine it has. A mechanic said it was a 351, but the VIN on the dash by the windshield says its a 302. It has a 2v carb, but it doesn't feel like 210 hp. It feels much more than that. Is there a way I can tell a difference between them? Thanks.
