You did adjust your timing with the vacuum advance disconnected right?

Does it still idle too fast after it's warmed up. Remember, u have a fast idle when it's cold. If so, check to see if it's sticking.

can someone please explain why you need to disconnect the vacuum advance on the distributor before you set your timing?

All i ever do is adjust the idler screw on the carb it always works for me.

Sorry, I do.

It's because when u are adjusting your timing, u don't want anything else but u adjusting it. Sometimes there is still a little vacuum left in the hose, or maybe your car is idleing too fast, and creating a vacuum. U want to rule out everything else to get the timming more percise.

I could have answered him. It was just a bit hard for me to believe that someone with all those mods could ask that question.
