72 Boss

I have found a 72 boss motor so the guy told me. could anyone tell me how i can tell that it is really a 72 boss and how much hp it has thankyou for any info

Did a little checking since my post to this question on the Windsor forum yesterday. The Boss 351 was produced only in 1971 and only 1806 were made. As stated the big valve boss heads (2.195"/1.714")were used along with a solid lifter cam, forged pistons, forged rods which were shotpeened and magnafluxed, a dual point distributor, factory aluminum intake, 4 bolt mains, 750 cfm autolite spread dore carb and a lot of other high performance hardware. They were factory rated at 330hp and 370 lb/ft of torque and were capable of pushing the big body Mustang to 13.8's in the quarter. There were 4 other variants of the Cleveland made back then, a 2v, 4v, cobra jet and HO - its more likely your dealing with one of these. As mentioned, due to the rarity a real and complete Boss 351 motor is worth big $$$$ to any collector/restorer looking for one
