Question About Greasing That Steering Box

HI GUYS ITS ME AGAIN

MY STEERIN' IS VERY LOOSE. I MEAND I REALLY CAN'T FEEL THE ROAD UNDER ME SOMETIMES.

ONE OF THE GUYS TOLD ME FIRST TO GEAR-UP THE STEERING BOX.

THE PROBLE IS I TRIED TO UN-SCREW THE THE BOLT. FIRST THE LOCKING NUT THAT HOLDS THE SCREW TYPE BOLT IN PLACE.
I WAS DOING WELL UN LOOSING IT BUT IT JUST JAMMED ON ME.

MEANING I COULDN'T UN-SCREW IT.

I WAS TOLE THAT FIRST UN-SCREW THAT BOLT AND THAN RIGHT UNDER IT IS ANOTHER BOLT. UN-SCREW THAT ONE TOO.
NOW PLACE ME GREASE GUN ON THE BOTTOM BOLT HOLE AND FILL IT WITH COMMON GREASE TILL IT COMES OUT THE FIRST HOLE.

AM I MAKING ANY SENSE

I DO HOPE I'M GETTING MY POINT ACROSS.

O.K. GUYS I'M IN YOUR HANDS.
WHAT AM I'M DOING WRONG

I FIRS CHECK THAT SCEW-TYPE BOLT TO SEE IF ITS WAS LOOSE WEEK BEFORE I WAS TOLE TO GREASE IT. AND ITS WAS LOOSE AND HELL. I TIGHTENED IT. BUT FOUND NO DIFFENCE IN THE STEERING.

I GIVE-UP. I BELIEVE AND KNOW THIS STEERING THING IS 'DANGEROUS' AND ONLY WITH YOUR HELP I CAN CORRECT IT I PRAY.

THANK YOU GENTLEMEN.
GOD BLESS YOU.

Default Re: About Greasing That Steering Box

Uh oh.

There is what I guess you would call a tension screw on top of the steering box... To tighten up play, you loosen the jam nut... and turn that screw inward by NO MORE than 1/8th of a turn at a time.

That should take out the play....

However, if you overtighten it, you will destroy the box.

Sorry to give you that news...
