Default Advantages of 302 w/ 351w firing order

It has been suggested that I consider a crate 302 (from a reputable remanufacturer) w/ larger 1.84/1.52 Valves and Bowl hog, a larger cam and a 351W firing order. From a "horsepower" point of view, what advantages does this hold over a regular 302? What does the 351W firing order add?

As far as I know, the staggered firing order is better for the overall efficiency of the engine... The 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 fires too many cylinders that are adjacent relative to the 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 order... resulting in better balance.

I always figured this was balanced better. Is this something that can/should be done with a 289?

I understood from Ford engineers, back in the day. That they changed to the 351W firing order to ease the load on the front main bearing.

If you want to change your 289,302 to the 351W firing order. All you have to change is the camshaft and then rearrange the spark plug wires in the dist. cap to the 351W firing order.

PDR-
Your cam (E303) is what decides your firing order. You already have the 351w firing order.

i was told by comp cams it lessens the load on the front main bearing. i dont undedrstand if the 1372 order is better then why do all the cam companys still offer a choice when all cams between 289-302-351w are interchangeable and does not matter year , crank etc.
