aod question
needed standard bore block 4 core( and it was hard to come by), and sitting behind it is an aod. imagine that... anyways, and elec harnesses, fittings, etc i should yank before i junk this '82 merc?
is the tranny worth yankn? would love to fit overD in my next project. thanks |
Re: aod question
I think it is worth yanking, but I am not exactly sure I would install it how it is. I put an 81 AOD in the stang when I first did the c-4 to AOD swap. It got me going, but after mild abuse it let go. the earlier AOD's were not as beefy as the later ones, especially ones out of a mustang. They have less clutches, weaker servos, u get the point. The good news though, is you can use the 81 AOD, and beef it up with the better parts should u choose to do so.

Re: aod question
After having my AOD, I would never go back to a 3 speed auto again.

Re: aod question
all depends on how much power you really want to put to them.
