auto to manual.
hello-
well it turns out I need A new trans. so I was woundering what it would cost me to put in A manual instead of an auto.(witch is what I have now) I still have the clutch pedal in the car from the 6cyl. I assume that the pedal is the same no matter if it is A six or 8cyl. so what ellse would I need besides the transmision to do this swap. I am thinking trans, clutch, Z bar, and shifter, will I need A different drive shaft. what about the rear end, anything ellse that I would need thats not listed above. thanks guys ford kid |

New rear end
You won't want to keep the 7 1/2" rear end under any circumstaces with a V-8 (either manual or auto). Go for the 9" if you need strength for extra power but with extra weight, otherwise the 8" is some lighter. I get by with my 8". A new Auburn Pro is on order for me. The Currie TSD and a later Trction-Lock sucked big time.
