Default Auto to Manual Swap

I have a 2001 GT and would like to convert from an auto trans to a 5 speed manual trans. Will this be
a hard thing to do or would it just consist of adding a clutch, flywheel, bell housing, and shifter?

I did it in mine, but I'm not sure how different it would be in your car. I would suspect it wouldnt be much harder.

I read an article on a swap in a 96GT, and it looked to be about the same job as what I did. So I'd think it would be about the same for yours.

You'll need alot of stuff, some of what I'll list from the top of my head, but I'm sure theres alot missing too

tremec 3650 with bellhousing and shifter
clutch kit
clutch fork
pilot bearing
clutch cable
5spd pedal assembly
maybe a crossmember
shifter boot
new or resurfaced flywheel, with bolts
and more that I cant think of

Yes it will be pretty expensive, especially if you have a mechanic do the work, but depending on the condition of your current transmission, you will be able to make some of the money back by selling it.

good luck, but i think this needs to be in the modular forum

Thanks for the info. I know it will cost some but was just hoping that there was no welding or anything to do.

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong forum.

Should be no modification's necessary, mine was a complete "bolt-on" swap.

No welding or cutting at all
