Question Axle Splines

While I'm putting a 9 inch and lower gears in my 65 stang I want to put a posi in it as well. I have a Detroit Locker setting in the garage. The problem is that it's 31 spline and my 9 inch axles are 28 spline. Can I change the splines out in the differential and convert it to 28 spline? The car is primarily a street car so I'm not really interested in spending the money on 31 spline axles.

I know you can change the spider gears out in the limited slip ford nine. I dont see why you wouldn't be able to in the Detroit locker. Just got to find the parts. Try Currie Enterprises out in CA, or DTS drive train specialties I think they are out of Detroit.

You could sell that locker on ebay for some real money, buy a trac lock, and pocket the rest. That's what I would do.

What's a Detroit Locker worth that's in good shape? And how much could I get an equally good Trac-loc for?

Get 31 spline axles. 34% stronger than 28 spline.

I'll give you $250.00 for the locker if your ever down my way in Tennessee. Or if your on the Eastern part of Ky, Id meet ya half way. Im in East Tennessee.
