Backhalving

I know that I am going to sound like a retard that doesn't know a lot about hi-performance cars, but I have one question about the advice for my rear end. What does backhalving mean - could someone explain it to me? I know that it has to do with the rear axle, but that is about it. Thanks for your help.

Go here www.cachassisworks.com and click on how to. Then click on "Subframe & Suspension". Just follow the pictorial on the 65 Mustang. You are basically removing the back half of the car, re-installing larger wheel tubs (tubbing) going to a 4 link or ladder bar suspension set-up, and with a shortened rear end, you can now install about any size tire you may think you need. Or you can do what they call a mini tub....

Hope that helps,

Ron

Hey, that was NOT a stupid question. I would have guessed that was pretty much the answer but wasn't sure by any means. I was kind of glad to see it too.
