Backwards Flowmaster

Hey all, I had some 2 chamber Flows put on my car today (I got the guy down to $200 for the mufflers and labor), but I noticed one of them is backwards! The inlet is facing the rear of the car. Some people have told me it will be a little more restrictive, but not much, some say, it won't make a difference, others say, it will upset everything.

At idle when I put my hand over each side (No tail pipes, exhaust is dumping straight out of the Flows) they seem to be blowing the same. I really don't notice a difference.

Because of the circumstances, I really can't bring it back to the guy to redo, and if I did, the muffler would probably be too close to the driveshaft as the offset would now be the outlet instead of the inlet.

Will this really make much of a difference? As it is now, the car is almost too loud. My friend can hear me blocks away. I also have the factory H-pipe if that means anything. Exhaust is 2 and 1/4 inch from manifolds to 2.5inch Flows.

Thanks Chris

Car is a 69 Mercury Cougar (Mustang with different skin) with 302.

I don't know about other muffs, but a flow DOES matter which way it goes, Take alook of a pic of these things guts, and you'll see why. If the muff, is center in offset out, just flip it over.

Thanks, I flipped it around.

You need to turn it around. Flowmasters are made to flow one way only. Is should sound different then the other.
