Flowmaster Exhaust

I have had my Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back on for about a month, and its nothing at all what i want it to sound like, or thought it would. Im. thinks about going to a different type of muffler. Right now its only kinda loud as im approaching 2000 rpms, and even then its not loud enough to have people in another car hear it. Is it possible that the shop put on the Delta Flows instead of just the normal 2-chambers? This exhaust is kinda Tingy. Kinda like what an imports car would sound like with a V-8. I don't like it to much. I want more of the deep rumble that gets louder as rpm increases, not get loud then drop off. What would you all suggest?

I have the flowmaster force II system which is more quiet than your system and it's pretty loud, just perfect for me. My one suggestion is get an off-road h-pipe! Then I think you will love you exhaust.

Anyone know how to tell if I have the Delta Flow Mufflers instead of just the normal 2-chambers? Are there any differences in the casing?

If you still have the stock H-pipe with 4 cats, replace it. The two-chambers are one of the loudest systems I've heard, but the stock h-pipe kills the sound.

I have the same exhaust as you. And I did have JUST the cat-back for some time and yes the sound was the same at around 2000 RPMs, but after the headers and h-pipe, my sh!t is too loud now. so, just take another step and ull hear a big difference.

i think the 2 and 3 chamber are both "delta flow" because the insides have a triangle type baffle system (delta has something to do with triangles, but i don't exactly know what), the difference the 3 chambers have one more baffle chamber. I may be wrong on this, but this is what i assumed. I garauntee if you get an offroad h-pipe (no catalytic converters or dimpled bends to disperse/dampen the sound waves) you'll be able to wake up the dead, or at least your neighbors.

Well, the difference with the Delta flows is the Triangular baffle in the middle, hence the name "Delta". The normal mufflers don't have that, which would make them louder. IM thinking I may have the deltas, which i don't want.

Call HPMotorsport in Omaha (402-731-7301). They deal in the Flowmaster stuff and should be able to tell you the difference between the 3 chambers and 2 chambers. I know for a fact that the 2 chambers are shorter than the 3 chambers, so you may want to measure your mufflers before you call.
