![]() ok my stang has 4 wheel drum brakes..yes i know i need to upgrade..anyway for the time being i was trying to put new shoes in my stang and noticed a broken part. im not sure what its called but its the part that looks like a round fork. it goes from the wheel cylinder to the brake shoe. i dont know what its called and one of the fork peices was broken off. i went to pep boys , autozone, kragen...everywhere i could think of and no one knows what its called or where i can get it. i ended up just taking a bolt and cutting it in the same shape as the good piece from the other side. took me an hour with my dremel. anyway it all works for now but i need to replace everything still. i dont like it the way it is. anyway please let me know if you know what its called or where i can get it. i hope someone knows because everywhere i went people were clueless.

![]() I think I know the piece you're talking about. It's the pushrod that comes out of the cylinder and pushes against the shoe itself right? Round on the side that goes into the cylinder and the shoe sits in the fork. I was just looking in Mustangs Unlimited's catalog and they dont sell new ones. try a brake shop, junkyard, or find someone parting out an old stang. A brake shop should have these no problem. But do change it. The screw will work in an emergency, but the end that goes into the ccylinder will never sit right and will either damage the cylinder or fail. You dont need parts inside your brakes falling out. Brakes failing=BAD lol Good Luck

![]() Its called a "Link" and has root part number 2042. NPD sells them as part number 2042-1, cost $4.06 Knowing the root part number will probably allow you to get it at many Mustang shops or even at Autozone or O'Reillys. Just in case you can't find it elsewhere call 1-800-874-7595
