Hey guys

I want to do a project, always have loved the '69 mustang because of it's strong front end, but have recently discovered just how bad-*** the rear end of the '68 fastback is. Could a '69 nose be fitted to a '68 Fastback? If so, I'd make the meanest looking Muscle Mustang!:D

Thanks in advance for any knowledge.

Well, with copious ammounts of money, a good cutting torch, welder, and a BFH you can do pretty much whatever the heck you want to.

Dont think so. 69-70 was longer and wider than the 67-68, and I have never seen this before. That being said, I don't know for sure.

I was just studying some '68-'69 pics. It looks like the front fenders are identical. At least where the headlight buckets bolt on. Do you think I could put '69 headlight bezels, hood and bumper on the '68 front end, keeping the '68 fenders intact?

I've seen guys who could do sheet metal magic and make anything from anything however crossbreeding Mustang bodies is not going to appeal to most people.

Do you have a 68? 69? It might be easiest to get his look by fabbing the grill insert and bumper from the 69, and leaving the rest alone.

Personally I wouldn't do it, but the less cutting the better. Good luck.

You could take a really scary mask and put it on the front. That might look mean too....

if you do anything, it always has to be for yourself.

It does however, look like too much work. The fenders are completely different the nose piesces and all angles are different. Oh well, I've got a few years to decide anyway, then I'm going to start from scratch. Maybe I'll just stick to the '67-'68 and forget about how nice the front end of the '69 is. I would do a '69, it's just that I hate the side soops behind the door handles and the integrated rear wing and all that empty space in the rear pillars. The '67-'68 nose is fine, just a little bland, and slightly smaller in proportion to the rest of the car.

We'll see....
