Default Boss 351 Windsor?

Anyone ever heard of this? I was talking to a very knowledgeable mechanic who told me about a limited production 351 windsor he had. He said it was a Boss 351 Windsor and not a Cleveland. Is there such a motor?

351W w/cleveland heads=BOSS 302. Maybe he is confused. In all my years I have never heard of a BOSS 351 Windsor.

to my limited knowledge a 4bl version is about the most they did with the 351w. i remember reading some things about the 351c, a closer relation to "boss" production.
i also remember something on 351w in trucks having roller setups/ forged pistons in late 80s early 90s. ive a "ford performance" book from the late 70s describing the 351w as a poor choice for performance. im sure thats from a standpoint in an age where boss 302s and clevlands were still to be had. last time i saw a cleveland in its natural habitat was in my mothers ranchero in 88'.

I've never heard of a 351W Boss version and to my knowledge "Boss" was only refered to on the cleveland 302 and 351 engines. ralph s is correct in 351w used for trucks as these engines used bigger sized crank journals. Yes poor engine performance in the sense of much more friction due to the big cankshaft journals. I myself drive a 69 Mach I with a 351w which I believe and experienced do not perform as well as my 71 Falcon GT 351C (Australian model). Wonder why Ford ever used the windsor engines in passanger cars. Anyone got an explanation!!
