Boss 429 What's it worth?
I ran into a friend that supposedly can get a Boss 429 & trans for $500. He doesn't have the money but I could buy it if I wanted. I think he's full of it but if I can really get this thing what is it really worth?

Depends what type of condition it's in but everything checks out for a rebuildable one I'd say 500 bucks is a steal. Only thing is finding parts is a real task. Not very boss parts floating around.

Finding real and complete factory Boss 429 motor for $500 would be like hitting the lottery. Complete and correct, running Boss 302 motors are going for $3,000 to $5,000 on the market and a complete Boss 429 will easily double that amount - possibly more depending on what it is. This would be classified as one of those finds of a life time.

Much as I had expected the Boss '9 for $500 was a farce. It ended up being a 429 out of an LTD or something. But when you hear about a deal like that you got to make sure its fake. The guy who told me about really didn't know anything about 429's or any Ford motors fo that matter.
