You said you wanted more stopping power are you sure the rear brakes are working properly? You could always change to better disks up front but the biggest improvement will have to be made in the back. You could try a larger drum 10 x 2 1/2, or a proportioning valve that will give more power to the rear shoes, but disks in the back will be the best fix.
