Question To Buy New Or Not To Buy New

Hi Guys

Guess who again

Here's the deal ~ need your advise on this one.

I have a three speed manual tranny in my '66, 289 cid.

I want to put in a five speed manual.

Now other than being CONFUESED MOST THE TIME with swapping or buy rebuilt on E-bay.

Why not I thought ( now your in trouble Schooner when your thinking )

WHY NOT BUY A NEW 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION
I KNOW THEY COST BUT LOOK WHAT I'D BE GETTING.
WARRENTY AND ITS NEW WITH NO MILEAGE.

TELL ME GUYS WHAT WOULD YOU DO
AND WHERE OR WHAT COMPANY WOULD YOU BUY IT FROM

YOUR OPINIONS AND ADVISE IS ALWAYS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

GOD BLESS YOU GUYS AND YOUR FAMILIES TOO.

If You Find A Transmissin You Neeed Have A Good Mechanic Check The Gears For Wear And The Case Fro Metal Filings. If It Looks Good It Probably Is. Have Him Replace All Bearings And Seals While It Is Out. Its Much Simpler And Cheaper.

Hey Thomas W. Harris

I will follow you suggestions. They make $ CENTS $ to me.
I'm still on the fence about either buying a NEW TRANNY or RE BUILT ONE.

I got my feelers out there with some of my club members but only one is going to contact his friend who works for AMMOCO TRANSMISSIONS and re builds trannies on-the-side.

THANK YOU SO YOU 'GREAT IMPUT'

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
