A/C Compressor
My '67 coupe has factory air with one of those old cast-iron compressors. I converted it to 134 a year ago - changed the compressor, dryer, etc - but the compressor makes a lot of noise which drives me nuts. I was thinking of getting one of the new Sanden compressors. I don't want to have to make any other changes so I am looking for a compressor that will bolt on to the current bracket and do the job. I am looking for any suggestions as to model numbers, etc, that will work for me. Any suggestions? Texas is not a great place in the summer without A/C. Thanks, E.

Re: A/C Compressor
Living in Florida I understand the concern about A/C.
Several companies make an adapter that allows the swap you're trying to do. I'd first check with Vintage A/C. I think they are/were in San Antonio. There is also a company here in FL that does that too. Can't remember the name right now. But they are in all the mag's. |
Re: A/C Compressor
Hot Rod just did an article all about A/C. (june 07) Vintage Air, Classic Auto Air, and Nostalgic Car Parts are all different companies they list that have kits for 67 mustangs. I would imagine you could order just the compressor from these companies, but other than that I really dont know much about A/C, other than how to roll down my window...
