can I pull engine and trans out together
Hello, I'm new here, I was wondering if I can pull a 390 motor and a c-6 trans out together at one time and if the headers come out all the way or raise the motor enough just to get them loose, if anyone can help I would really apprieciate this, thanks

Re: can I pull engine and trans out together
Take the headers loose first. Then pull the engine and tranny out as a unit. Welcome to MW.

Re: can I pull engine and trans out together
like rev said unbolt the headers first, you will have to get the front of the car up high enough that the tail of the tranny will not hit the floor. remember to plug the end of the tranny or itll make a mess when its tilted up ...

Re: can I pull engine and trans out together
When i've pulled engines out of my 65 (small block, not big block) I've always done it seprately, seemed easier for me. Found out it doesnt work so well on chevys, as it extremely sucked when we did that with my brother 74 camaro. Watch your radiator.

Re: can I pull engine and trans out together
You'll have to take the hood off of course. Scribe a line around the hinges before you do that so you can reinstall it in the same position later. I would remove the radiator as well to make getting the engine/trans out easier.
