Need help with fuel system...NOVI and mroe..
I need help to decide on a fuel system for my car.
I have many questions. First, here are my mods: NOVI 1000 6lb of boost (I will not go any higher then this) Edelbrock Performer Intake, or Professional Products, not sure yet. MAC Throttle body AFR 165 aluminum heads 1.6 rollers FTI Cam 498/512 112LSA Pro-M meter with supercharger blow through 255 fuel pump (high pressure) Bypass valve for blower OK, so I have the fuel pump (255 high pressure) I need to know what I should do for the rest of my setup. I have spoke with 2 users that have almost the same setup, they use 24lb injectors and the FMU. One of them actually took the FMU off and the car ran perfect. There is another user using no FMU and 36lb injectors. Emmissions (sp?) is a problem, and so I would prefer to use the 24lbs injectors. I will not be going over 6lbs of boost. I am guessing 300RWHP before the blower and 360-380 after. That will be more then enough for me. The car will be driven every day, and must be reliable! That being said, I need lots of opinions. 1) So I do 24lb injectors and a FMU? 2) 24lb injecors and no FMU? 3) 36lb injectors and no FMU? The FMU I would use is the one that comes in the NOVI 1000 kit. Any input positive or negative is welcome!. Ian

24's and no FMU is a bad idea. 24's with the FMU will work fine for that boost level, but 30's sure won't hurt. 36's without the FMU will work fine too but there may be some tuning issues (such as a custom chip) to make it work right.

So do you think I should go with 30lbs and the FMU?
Will I need the chip for the 30lbs? How will a 30lb injector effect emmissions? Ian

Whether you run the smaller injectors and an fmu vs. the larger injectors and no fmu is going to have no bearing on whether you pass emissions or not until you begin pushing well over 400 rwhp. If the emissions equipment (i.e; cats and smog pump) are still in place with the list of mods you've gave, then you'll be fine I would think.
You can get away with the 24's and an fmu, but your going to be pushing those injectors well over 90% of their duty cycle. Enough of this can cause injector failure. Plus with the amount of quality parts you have, you could have one big boat anchor if you don't use enough injector. I run 30's with no fmu now with my setup. I've run 10 lbs of boost with a mixture of race/pump gas with no problems. All blown car react differently. Some need a chip, some don't, some can run 30 with no fmu and no driveability issues, some need an fmu. I say try the 30's minimum, you'll put to much strain on the 24's.

Just to update everyone......
I am going with 36lb injectors and a Pro-M 75MM calibrated for 36lb injectors and supercharged. This will allow me to run perfect all day, and I can ditch the FMU. I will also most likely invest in a ECC tuner so I can customize every aspect of my car. Ian
