300 engine swap?
Is it possible to swap a 300 inline 6 into my 66 coupe? It currently has a 200 in it that might be needing some engine work. A friend of mine has a junker '70 or so Ford truck and he said he would give me the 300 if I wanted it. I don't know anything about the 300 but I thought if it would fit (plus I would get it free) I would do that instead of rebuilding the 200. Let me know if i'm way off here... and as usual thanks for the help.
- will it fit? - If so, what else would need to be done for the swap (motor mounts, exhaust, etc)? - 66 with stock 200 and stock C4 tranny - Brake/ axle upgrades needed? ------------------ 66 Tahoe Turquoise Coupe Laser Red 96GT Ragtop Both are slow but easy on the eyes! |
